Overview
Ilam, in far eastern Nepal, is the country tea region, with rolling hills covered in tea bushes, cool air and a slow pace of life. It is also close to the borders of India and Sikkim, with views of Kanchenjunga on clear days.
This tour visits tea estates, a local factory, Antu Danda (famous for sunrise over a sea of clouds) and Mai Pokhari, a sacred lake and wetland. It is a refreshing change from the busier tourist areas.
