Overview
The Everest Base Camp trek is the most famous walk in the Himalaya. From the mountain airstrip at Lukla the trail follows the Dudh Koshi valley into the Khumbu, home of the Sherpa people, passing suspension bridges, prayer-wheel walls and stone villages beneath peaks such as Ama Dablam, Lhotse and Nuptse.
This 14-day itinerary builds in two acclimatisation days, at Namche Bazaar and Dingboche, so your body can adjust before you reach Everest Base Camp at 5,364 m. The next morning you climb Kala Patthar (5,545 m), the best viewpoint for Mount Everest itself, before descending to Lukla.
Nights are spent in teahouse lodges, and our team in Kathmandu arranges flights, permits, an experienced guide and porters, so you can focus on the trail. The best seasons are spring (March to May) and autumn (late September to November).
