Overview
A tshechu is a religious festival with masked dances, music and colourful costumes, held in honour of Guru Rinpoche. The Paro Tshechu takes place each spring and is one of the biggest in the country, with local families dressed in their finest clothes and thousands gathering in the courtyard of Rinpung Dzong.
This tour combines the festival with sightseeing in Thimphu and Punakha and a hike to Tiger Nest. Festival dates follow the Bhutanese lunar calendar and change each year, so we suggest booking well in advance.
