Overview
Mount Jomolhari is one of the most sacred mountains in Bhutan, known as the Mountain of the Goddess. This trek follows the Paro Chhu river to Jangothang, a high camp at the foot of Jomolhari and Jichu Drake, passing forests, small villages, yak pastures and ruined fortresses.
The route is more demanding than the Druk Path and is for experienced walkers, but it gives superb mountain views and a chance to meet semi-nomadic yak herders. A hike to Tiger Nest at the start gives you an acclimatisation day.
