Overview
This seven-day tour covers the highlights of western Bhutan, a Himalayan kingdom known for its fortress-monasteries, traditional dress and careful approach to tourism.
You start in Thimphu, the capital, with its giant Buddha Dordenma statue and Tashichho Dzong, then cross Dochula Pass and its 108 chortens to the warm Punakha valley, home to the country’s most beautiful dzong. The tour ends in Paro with the hike to Paro Taktsang, the Tiger’s Nest monastery that clings to a cliff 900 m above the valley.
All visitors to Bhutan travel with a licensed guide and pay a Sustainable Development Fee. We handle the visa, guide, driver and hotels so the trip runs smoothly.
