Overview
Bumthang is the spiritual heartland of Bhutan, a group of high valleys with ancient temples, monasteries and traditional villages. This tour crosses the country from west to east, with stops at Paro, Thimphu, Punakha and Trongsa before reaching Jakar.
The drive is part of the experience, with mountain passes, forests, valleys and several dzongs, and you will have time to visit Bumthang temples, farmhouses and local markets. It is a good choice for those who want to see more than the usual Paro and Thimphu circuit.
